Abstract

In this paper, the authors present a real-time PC-based simulation of a direct field-oriented controller (DFOC) for an induction motor using RT-LAB software package. The use of a real-time simulator to achieve Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulation allows rapid prototyping of this kind of complex system in particular, and the development and testing of embedded systems in general. The implemented system presented in this paper consists of an induction motor with its static converter and speed, torque and flux controllers. These controllers are designed to take into account the variations of the rotor resistance.
